Welcome Tim Howes as our new CTO of Proactive AI! 🎉

Tim Howes is a legendary technology leader and renowned computer scientist – he co-created LDAP (the internet directory protocol and the foundation of email) and made major contributions to both cloud computing and AI Infrastructure. 

I’m so thrilled to announce that my longtime mentor Tim Howes is joining Proactive AI Lab to lead product development. 

Tim and I first met at Yahoo after they acquired my startup Alike. I reported to Tim, and he is far and away the best manager I’ve ever had. I still vividly remember Tim’s coaching and encouragement that molded me into a VP at Yahoo– he believed I had the ability to become a senior executive at a big tech company well before I believed in my own potential. 

Tim is an AI visionary. At Meta, he was a leader of the AI infrastructure team that laid the foundation for future rapid growth and development of Meta AI.

Tim brings a wealth of founder expertise to our company as a serial entrepreneur who has created nearly $2 billion of value in his startups: LoudCloud, OpsWare, and RockMelt. He has also held senior leadership positions at Netscape, AOL, HP, Yahoo, and Meta.

Tim earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.

In his own words, Tim explains why he decided to join Proactive AI Lab:

“I could not be more excited for this amazing journey.

As an investor and advisor to the company from the beginning, I have watched the vision, team, and product evolve and grow. I’ve seen us develop ground-breaking technology. I’ve observed the growing list of customers eager to get their hands on our product, knowing that it has the potential to increase revenue, decrease costs, and increase customer satisfaction. I see the size of the opportunity in front of us, and in my long career in tech, rarely, if ever, have I seen a company better positioned to capitalize on such a perfect storm of customer need, technology, and timing. 

I’ve been impressed with the team and the progress we’ve made so far. I’m joining because I don’t want to miss out. I don’t want to just advise; I want to help make it happen. I am looking forward to working with Maria, Steve, Karen, and the rest of the team to make this vision a reality. We have a fantastic opportunity in front of us, and I can’t wait to see what we do with it.”
